What is an explosion-proof motor?
【Summary Description】Explosion-proof motors are a type of motor that can be used in flammable and explosive environments without generating electrical sparks during operation. They are primarily used in coal mines, oil and gas, petrochemical, and chemical industries. Additionally, explosion-proof motors are widely applied in sectors such as textiles, metallurgy, urban gas, transportation, grain and oil processing, papermaking, and pharmaceuticals.

The rated voltage, rated current, power, and speed of explosion-proof motors are marked the same as ordinary motors. The difference is that explosion-proof motors have an additional explosion-proof mark: Ex.

2. Equipment category
Electrical equipment for explosive gas environments is divided into:
Class I: Electrical equipment for underground coal mines;
Class II: Electrical equipment for other explosive gas environments outside of coal mines.
Class II flameproof type "d" and intrinsically safe type "i" electrical equipment are further divided into Class IIA, IIB, and IIC.
Electrical equipment for combustible dust environments is divided into: Type A dust-tight equipment; Type B dust-tight equipment.
3. Temperature group: T1~T6 Ignition temperature of combustible gases The maximum temperature of electrical equipment T1 T>450 ℃ T2 450℃>T>300℃ T3 300℃>T>200℃ T4 200℃>T>135℃ T5 135℃>T>100℃ T6 100℃>T>85℃ Development With the advancement of technology and production, the number of places with explosion hazards is also increasing. For example, the production of edible oil used to rely on traditional pressing methods. After the 1970s, China began to introduce excellent foreign oil extraction processes, but this process requires the use of chemical solvents containing hexane, which is a flammable and explosive substance; therefore, oil extraction workshops have become explosion hazard areas that require the use of explosion-proof motors and other explosion-proof electrical products. Additionally, with the rapid development of highways in China, a large number of fuel stations have emerged, providing a new market for explosion-proof motors.
